Business Finance Services - Seminar MK March 2017

"...excellent finanicial advice and, most of all, an exceptionally friendly service..."
Business Finance Services Ltd. (BFS) held another in their successful series of Seminars aimed at introducing Owners and Managers of SME’s to the various ‘Alternative’ types of funding that are available to businesses these days.
This Seminar was on the subject of ‘Crowdfunding and how it can benefit the SME’. It was held in the Performance Suite of the Doubletree Hilton Hotel which proved to be a superb venue for what was a packed event. We also enlisted the services of Dawn Ratchford (Virtually Dawn PA Services) who assisted with organising the event. Peter Douglas, MD of BFS explained “Many people have heard of Crowdfunding but not everyone in business knows how it works or how it can be used to provide the additional finance that a business may need. The purpose of the Seminar was to explain not only the concept but also to introduce attendees to some of the various types of crowdfunding that are now available.”
BFS were supported at the event by three of the UK’s leading Crowdfunding Platforms - ThinCats, Crowdcube and ArchOver. Each of these platforms provides a different type of funding, specifically; Secured Loans, Equity Finance and Loans secured against a company’s Debtor Book. As John Landers, Director of BFS commented “Those attending our seminar were given a broad overview of the scope of modern Crowdfunding platforms. We did explain, however, that there are now a number of specialist platforms that target particular niches within the commercial finance market. An example would be those offering single invoice finance. The difficult part for the potential borrower is to understand who provides which service and which are the best platforms for a particular borrowing requirement”. As John said, however, ”That is where we at BFS come in!”
BFS are planning to hold one more of these Seminars on the subject of ‘Crowdfunding for the SME’ somewhere in the East Midlands/East Anglia. Details of date and venue will be announced shortly. Thereafter there will be a series of further seminars and events in 2017/18. These will be aimed at introducing the SME community to some of the other forms of ‘Alternative’ finance that are now available.”
